Grass and Salt Cube

Grass is designed to perpetuate its own making, just as a curator was originally a keeper of a collection at a cultural or heritage institution. Like time going clockwise, the Grass will usually sprout, grow tall and change. In a similar context, a curator’s role reacts according to a natural timeline of cultural progression.

The salt block above the grass disintegrates and forms its own elaborate crystalline patterns. The formations have been curated to create their own works of art. In our fast paced society and contemporary art world, where then in the near future, does the position of a curator lie? Will it disintegrate from its initial role or continue to evolve with time?
