River Ice, Desert Blue

Experimenting with chemical compositions lead to musings of New Materialist theory, ‘death of the curator’ and recognising an objects authorship of its creation. This series of patina artworks are reminiscent of the dark ocean, huge ice sheets and desert salt lakes. Without the curators controlling hand, these ‘dead’ objects have represented the micro/macrocosm paradox. In turn proving a startling vitality and fluidity which might otherwise be left unrecognised.
